Ask Yourself: “Is My LinkedIn Attracting the Right Opportunities?”

The end of the year is like halftime in a game. It’s the perfect time to regroup, refocus, and get

ready to amp up your goals to finish strong. But before you dive into New Year’s resolutions,

here’s something to consider:

Does your LinkedIn profile, activity, or engagement align with the opportunities you want to attract? As we say in the South, “let’s keep it one hunnit!” LinkedIn isn’t just for job hunting anymore. It’s your professional stage, your highlight reel, and your network rolled into one. But if your profile looks like a forgotten mixtape from years ago, it’s time to remix, refresh, and get an album ready.

1. Does Your Profile Tell the Right Story?

Think of your LinkedIn profile as your outfit for a big interview: Is it giving what it’s supposed to

give?

● Your headline should scream where you’re headed, not just where you’ve been.

● Your skills and accomplishments need to pop—are you showcasing the things that make

people stop scrolling?

● Your About section? That’s where your personality and goals shine. Keep it real, and

keep it relevant.

2. Stop Leaving Wins on the Table

This year, did you:

● Land a major client?

● Speak at an event?

● Get a new certification or crush it on a project?

Please don’t let those moments fade into the background. Share them! Post about your wins,

update your experience, and let your network know you’re leveling up. Just like closed mouths don’t get fed...closed profiles don’t get noticed.

3. Build the Right Vibe with Your Engagement

Here’s the deal: LinkedIn’s not just about what you post, but also how you show up.

● Are you connecting with movers and shakers in your industry?

● Are your comments and posts actually giving value, or are they just placeholders to

show your connections that you’re alive?

● Are you engaging with people who can help you get where you’re trying to go?

Engagement is currency, and you want to make sure you’re spending it in the right places.

4. Network Up, Not Just Across

Our Savannah Mayor, Mayor Van Johnson, always tells us that our network is our net worth. Who’s in your circle? Who are you learning from? Start connecting with people who challenge and inspire you. Don’t be afraid to slide into a DM with a thoughtful message—it’s not weird; it’s smart.

5. Keep It Real, but Polished

LinkedIn profiles balance professionalism and authenticity. You don’t have to sound like a robot or overshare your life story. Just be yourself and find the alignment you need to level up.

The bottom line is that your LinkedIn should be a digital representation of your hard work. But the difficult questions are...are you really putting in the work, and do you have authentic stories to share?

So, as you’re setting goals for the New Year, look at your profile and your

activity. Ask yourself: Is this attracting the energy, people, and opportunities I want in my life? If not, it’s time to move.

Thank you for the opportunity to share these Limitless LinkedIn strategies throughout 2024! I

can’t wait to let you guys know our updated focus for 2025! Peace and blessings!
